A single Citizen Card to connect you to all services in the city

The Santander SmartCitizen initiative was created with the aim of improving the quality of life of the people of Santander by developing convenient tools and simple solutions to streamline municipal services and procedures. To this end, we are going to implement a series of solutions and tools, totally adapted to your needs, which will allow you to save time in your day-to-day procedures and will also help you to connect with your city. 

One of these tools is the new Citizen Card, which will unify many of the city's previous cards, simplifying them and combining them into a single one.

The Citizen Card is a simple and convenient way of identifying yourself, paying and accessing the services offered by Santander through the card, such as: using public transport, renting bicycles, paying the parking meter, buying tickets, paying taxes, accessing municipal sports activities, library network, leisure activities, senior activities, tourist services and cultural events, among others, and you can even take advantage of discounts in small shops and services in the city. 

It also has an electronic wallet where you can top up the balance, just as you did with the bus cards, or if you prefer, you can link it to your bank account.  

The Citizen's Card is available in three different ways, so that whether you are registered in Santander or are a tourist or live in the area around Santander and come here regularly, you can choose the one that best suits your needs: 

-Citizen's Card: in its general form, it is designed for those who are registered in Santander, as it is nominal, i.e., you identify yourself with the data from the Town Hall register. You can use it as a prepaid card or link it to your bank account.  

-Bahía Card: for those who are not registered but visit us often. 

-Faro Card: The best option for tourists, valid for 7 days, with which they can access municipal services.  

The Citizen Card will be available in two versions:  

-Physical: 70,000 cards will be distributed completely free of charge for those citizens registered in Santander. In addition, you will also be able to apply for your card online, so that wherever you are, you can apply for your card and have it delivered to your home without having to go anywhere. 

-Virtual: through the Santander City mobile application, where, in addition to topping up your wallet, you can consult information on all the city's services, report incidents and carry out simple procedures with the City Council.

You can also use your Citizen Card in the interactive technological spaces where, when you need to, you can top up your wallet if you do not have it linked to your bank account. 

Moreover, if you have an incident or simply need help, the City Council will set up a Citizen Card Service Office, where we will be available to answer any questions you may have about its use and applications.
