Throughout the year, Santander's Youth Center welcomes numerous young people attending workshops and activities, particularly between summer and the end of the year. There is a lull between June and August, when fewer activities take place and young people opt for outdoor entertainment, but attendance at the Center grows steadily starting on the Fall, as the usual activities are resumed and the number of visitors increases to almost 40% over the usual.
By the time October rolls by there is already a significant surge, but November stands out as the point at which the number of visitors doubles, with over 1200 people visiting the Center on that month. These results may be due to the activities programmed, such as the "La Noche es Joven" ("The Night is Young") initiative, which is resumed these last months of the year; the higher number of public holidays; and the fast approaching Christmas holidays, which also have a positive impact on the numbers for December.
Visitors throughout the week come as a result of free time and programmed activities, with Monday being the slowest day of the week, other than the weekends; Tuesday and Wednesday are also relatively sluggish but, as the week passes, more activities take place, and more people come to the Center: up to 50% more, in fact, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
These data allow us to program activities, analyse which ones are more popular, and make sure that workshops and events overlap with whatever free time potential visitors may have. Security measures and capacity limits are also easier to implement thanks to this information. If you want to know more about our Youth Center, including the latest attendance numbers —and how these can be used—, you will find all the information on our blog and social media. Stay tuned!
