Tickets for the reception of the Three Wise Men, who arrived in the city earlier in January, could be booked through the online ticket sale system. This channel gives citizens a simple online service through which they may take advantage of all the activities on offer in Santander from the comfort of their own home, eschewing the need for physically going to the city's offices and spaces themselves.   

This year, health restrictions made it impossible to organize the traditional Three Wise Men parade; instead, a reception, with limited capacity, was held at the Cathedral. The online platform allows the City Council to react to a set of restrictions announced shortly before the arrival of the Three Wise Men, not only by offering a way for citizens to book tickets beforehand, but also by incorporating new functionalities, making it easier to adequately manage safety protocols and capacity, and ensuring that the celebration took place safely. 

Although this online booking system was already in use last year, the event held on the 5th of January saw an improvement to the whole process. Admittance was distributed in 10-minute rounds, distributing occupancy throughout the duration of the event, making it possible to choose a particular round. Families also had the option of downloading their tickets to their phones as well as printing them on paper, so that they could be scanned at the entrance for a quicker, easier management. As these examples show, the system has been improved to offer all its advantages to both City Council and citizens. 

The new ticketing system was put in operation on Monday, January 3rd: within the first 8 minutes, all the 5,100 tickets available had been reserved. The event on January 5th took place as expected, and from 9:00 to 21:00 families could attend at the time of their choosing, with children telling the Three Wise Men what presents they wished for. The new platform offers several advantages, and proved to be effective and able to handle an adequate number of requests: both before and during the event, no problems came up despite the high demand placed on the system.
