We have already talked at length about how the Citizen Card will make it easier for you to access the many public services available in Santander, putting together the services previously distributed throughout a whole walletfull of different cards. One of the new functionalities, and the subject of this post, is its integration into the municipal library network.
On requesting your Citizen Card, you will automatically be registered as a user in the municipal library network of Santander. This way, you will be able to reserve, check out and return books using only the barcode printed on your card. This is all thanks to the integration of the previous library ID system into the new Citizen Card —a process that is to be repeated with many other city services.
If you are already a registered user of the municipal library network, you will still be able to access this public service through the Citizen Card without any extra paperwork on your part.
This service will also be available through the Santander Ciudad app, which will give you the option of digitalizing your Citizen Card. We will tell you more about it very soon.
This new Citizen Card functionality is part of the many tools offered by the City Council as part of their efforts to brin the city closer to you: making it easier for you to access municipal services and encouraging you to be an active part of the social and cultural life of your city.
