A set of different tools, aimed at improving the quality of life of the citizens of Santander, has been in development through the Santander SmartCitizen initiative; among these, the Citizen Card will allow you to consolidate the city’s services, simplifying and bringing them together into a single card through simple and convenient solutions aimed at streamlining municipal services and tasks. 

This tool will make it easier for you to use the services provided by the City Council, customized to better adapt to you: from the model for the card you prefer, to which tasks you need to carry out.  

The Citizen Card not only offers you a physical card to be used at the Technological Spaces installed throughout the city, but also gives you the option of using a virtual card integrated into the mobile app. At the same time, three different versions are available depending on what type of citizen you are, allowing us to better adapt to your needs. Regarding the services available, the possibility of carrying out municipal administrative procedures, as well as the lending service for the network of libraries, is already being implemented. Soon, you’ll be able to discover how to use your card to pay for public transport and parking in Santander, as well as to access activities at the IMD (Municipal Sports Institute).  

Other than these services, for leisure and cultural activities, the card allows you to deduct the cost of tickets from your card’s balance and access venues without the need for a physical copy, making them available through your mobile app. 

This card aims to improve access to services and day-to-day procedures you might need to carry out. From tasks such as booking a slot for your child at the IMD swimming pool or getting tickets for a concert to procedures like requesting a health-related service, all from a customized card that makes this a friendlier and more direct process.
